Key dates

  • 1 July 2026SIL and NDIS digital platform services require registration
  • 12 Oct 2026New applications start in the new NDIS Commission Portal; draft applications in the old portal are removed

Who this affects

Businesses that want to become registered NDIS providers — including SIL and digital platform providers, who must now be registered.

Before you apply: you need an ABN and must be able to show, with evidence, that you can deliver the supports you are applying for. All key personnel are checked for a valid NDIS worker screening clearance and for suitability (for example past convictions or enforcement actions), and workers in risk-assessed roles need a clearance too.

To apply you need a myID account, your organisation's details (structure, governance, locations), your key personnel's details, the supports you plan to provide and supporting evidence. The form includes your registration groups, a self-assessment against the NDIS Practice Standards and suitability questions. You must finish it within 60 days or it is deleted.

After you submit, you get an Initial scope of audit that tells you whether you need a verification or certification audit. You choose and pay an approved quality auditor; in the new portal you select them from a list after submitting Part 2. The auditor sends a recommendation to the Commission, which also assesses your suitability and key personnel, and then tells you its decision.

Workers on temporary visas must meet the Commission's requirements for NDIS workers on temporary visas.

What to do

  1. Get worker screening clearances for key personnel and risk-assessed workers before you apply — it's the most common cause of delay.
  2. Check which audit your registration groups need, and budget for it.
  3. Set up myID and gather organisation and key personnel details first, so you can finish within 60 days.
